During the construction of this straw pellet plant in Iraq, we helped the client resolve numerous production and technical challenges. These included raw material processing, the production environment, and ensuring stable, long-term operation. These are also common challenges faced by other biomass pellet plants. Our equipment and solutions are designed with practical needs in mind to deliver optimal production results.

The source material was bagged raw straw with relatively long fibers. If this straw is not sufficiently crushed, it can lead to difficulties in pellet formation and pellet machine blockages. The crushing section includes unbaling, preliminary shredding, and fine crushing to prepare the material for optimal pelletization.

Due to its light texture, straw crushing generates a significant amount of dust, which can adversely affect the production environment. Therefore, we have installed a dust collection system for the crushing section. This system uses airflow to extract material from the crusher while incorporating filters to prevent dust leakage.

For a high production capacity target of 8–10T/H, the production line’s ability to operate stably is crucial. The customer selected this automated production process. It enables automatic feeding, efficient molding, and automated cooling and baling. It also reduces labor costs, minimizes human error, and ensures high-efficiency production.

To improve the smooth flow between process stages, we have installed two 8 m³ storage silos between the bale unpacking and crushing stages. A 10 m³ storage silo is installed upstream of the pelletizer, and the packaging system is equipped with a 4 m³ storage silo. These silos effectively prevent equipment downtime.

Bale Breaking

For baled straw and loose, large-sized straw, we have configured a disc-type bale breaker. It is paired with a discharge belt conveyor, a blower, and a dust collection system. These components can perform preliminary crushing of the baled straw material.

This section performs fine processing on loose, small-sized straw or pre-shredded straw. This configuration includes two straw shredders and a dust collection system. The storage silo serves as a buffer for material processed in the bale-breaking section.

To meet high-capacity production demands, we provide industrial straw pellet machines. They process the shredded, powdery material into pellets efficiently. Customers can produce pellets of different sizes by replacing the ring dies and adjusting the cutting blades.

Freshly pelletized straw pellets are relatively moist and soft, requiring cooling to set their shape. This section accelerates this process. It features an automated counter-current cooler and a fan-based dust collection system. The temperature of the cooled pellets does not exceed room temperature by more than 3–5°C.

The screening section ensures uniform pellet specifications and improves pellet quality. It can screen out 2–3 different pellet sizes, ensuring a smooth pellet surface. In actual projects, it is typically assembled and operated together with the cooler to save space and improve production efficiency.

To improve baling efficiency, this section is equipped with an automated baling scale for automatic weighing and packaging. A grain storage silo is located in front of the baling scale to temporarily store the screened pellets. This configuration reduces labor costs and ensures stable production capacity.

Main Equipment for the Crop Pellet Production Line

The following is the equipment configuration for the main process flow, which ensures the stable operation of this straw pellet plant in Iraq. These machines also provide efficient service for other straw pellet production lines. In addition to these, we have designed other models of similar equipment to meet the production needs of a wider range of customers.

Straw Bale Shredder

This device is a disc-type bale shredder designed specifically for the coarse shredding of high-fiber materials in bale form. Its hammer blades are made of No. 65 manganese steel and undergo a quenching process to enhance wear resistance. The shredded material is approximately 20–30 mm in size. It can be integrated with a feed chain conveyor, a discharge belt conveyor, and a dust collection system.

We offer high-efficiency paddy straw shredder machine, which designed to crush high-fiber materials into a powdery consistency with particle sizes ranging from approximately 0.5 to 20 mm. The crushed material can be used for pelletizing or other applications. This equipment is a fine-grade hammer mill, and its screen mesh size can be customized.

For the screening stage, we offer a high-frequency vibrating screen. This machine uses a self-balancing vibration mechanism to deliver excellent screening performance. Its screen clamping mechanism enables quick and easy screen replacement.

To help our customer achieve high-quality product packaging, we offer fully automatic packaging scale. This device weighs and packages products automatically, reducing labor costs. When used with moisture-proof packaging bags, it also extends the storage life of pellet products.
