How does straw pellet production line work?
Through field investigations and repeated experiments, we have refined the straw pellet production line into specialized segments, enabling more efficient and orderly pellet production. This better meets customers’ strict pellet production requirements.

01
Bale Breaking Process
This section handles production materials with specialized packaging. Straw pellets typically use straw-based materials. Many wheat and rice straws being baled by specialized machinery for transport. To facilitate processing, the bales need to be broken up.

02
Raw Material Crushing Process
Straw-based materials possess long fibers unsuitable for direct mixing and pelletization. This section employs specialized high-efficiency crushers to process the material. The crushed output typically consists of 3-5mm fluffy particles.

03
Raw Material Mixing Process
This process can mix straw materials of different moisture content and textures, making pelletisation easier. It can also mix raw materials in different amounts, which makes sure that the final pellets always have the same high quality.

04
Raw Material Drying Process
High moisture content in straw feedstock leads to loose pellet structure, poor formation, and significantly reduced output. Therefore, we have designed specialized drying equipment to reduce moisture content to the ideal pelletizing range of 15%-18%.

05
High-Efficiency Pelletizing Process
This section serves as the core component of the straw pellet production line. Using our highly efficient and energy-saving straw pellet machine, you can subject pre-processed raw materials to high-temperature compression. This process yields straw pellets characterized by stable structure, smooth surface, and uniform texture.

06
Pellet Cooling Process
After high-temperature steam compression processing, pellets remain hot and soft in texture. This makes them difficult to package and transport, and poses a burn hazard to workers. Therefore, a cooling stage is required to cool the straw pellets.

07
Pellet Screening Process
To ensure uniform specifications of finished pellets, we have designed a screening process. This allows for the separation of compliant products while sifting out smaller materials for re-pelletization. This approach not only maintains production output but also maximizes utilization of raw material costs.

How many operators are required for a straw pellet production line?
+
The number of operators required is dependent on the automation level of the equipment. A straw pellet production line generally comprises core processes such as feeding, monitoring and packaging, typically requiring 2-3 operators. For high-capacity, high-specification production lines, the requirement is for five to six operators.
When equipping a highly automated production line, it is possible to achieve one-button operation, real-time monitoring of current and equipment temperature, efficient material transfer, and safety alarm systems. These automated designs significantly reduce reliance on workers during production.
The key benefits of this technology include minimising equipment failures, enhancing stability and output capacity, facilitating further production efficiency improvements, and reducing labour costs.
What are the key benefits of investing in a complete straw pellet production line?
+
Whilst a single straw pellet machine ensures rapid production, it lacks effective raw material processing and timely cooling, which makes consistent product quality difficult to guarantee. The process is also heavily reliant on manual labour, which results in higher labour costs.
An automated production line, equipped with systematic integration, full-process monitoring and efficient conveying equipment, enables stable and high-efficiency production. This approach has been shown to lead to significant cost reductions and enhanced return on investment. It facilitates the achievement of scale, industrialisation, and the maximisation of economic benefits.
How to control dust and noise during production?

What is the function of a dryer? How to select an appropriate heat source?
+
Straw feedstock characteristically possesses a high moisture content, frequently ranging from 30% to 50%. However, the ideal moisture level for pelletisation is 15%-18%, which necessitates the use of drying equipment to process the raw material. At this moisture level, the feedstock exhibits excellent binding properties and pellet formation rate, contributing to increased production.
The selection of heat source for a dryer is primarily determined by investment costs. We recommend selecting from the following options: coal-fired hot air furnace, gas-fired hot air furnace, or biomass burner.
The initial option is the most cost-effective, but it generates higher levels of pollutants. The second option offers the advantages of easy cleaning and convenient temperature control, but is priced at a premium.
The most suitable heat source for this purpose is the biomass burner. Our straw pellet production line also accommodates this drying method. This meets environmental requirements and provides heating by burning waste materials, resulting in the lowest economic cost.
