Why Pelletize Beet Pulp?
Beet pulp, which is produced through a pressing process, is rich in dietary fiber and low in sugar. Beet pulp pellets combine the fiber of forage pellets with the energy of grain feed, making them an ideal feed for animals such as cattle, sheep, and horses. These residues also serve as a low-cost raw material for producing fuel pellets.

By replacing ring dies with different pore sizes, it can produce sugar beet pellets ranging from 4 to 12 mm in diameter. Compared to raw beet pulp for cattle, beet pulp pellets offer a more balanced nutritional profile and improved palatability. The high-temperature-conditioned pellets are easier to digest and help protect the animals’ digestive health. Crushing
For high-fiber raw materials, we offer a fine crushing process. This stage is specifically equipped with a bale breaker and a crusher to reduce the raw material to a particle size of 3–5 mm. This particle size enhances feed density and optimizes pelletization results.

Excessive moisture content in the raw material can make pelletizing difficult. This process is used to dry raw materials with a moisture content higher than 15%–18%. Our drum dryer dries the material through rotation and hot air circulation, and the drying time can be adjusted.

Pelletizing

Can wet beet pulp be pelletized directly?

Direct pelletization of wet beet pulp is not recommended. Fresh beet pulp typically has a moisture content exceeding 60%, and direct pelletization will compromise the quality of the pellets. Therefore, it must be dried beforehand to reduce its moisture content to approximately 15–18%. We can provide drying drums to meet this requirement. A complete processing system is particularly suitable for sugar plant projects.
What is the shelf life of beet pulp pellets?

The beet pulp pellet mill can heat-treat the beet pulp at high temperatures to enhance its binding properties. The high-intensity compression provided by the twin rollers increases density by more than 2–3 times and stabilizes the structure. With a moisture content below 12%, the finished pellets have a significantly extended shelf life. Under proper storage conditions, they are unlikely to spoil.
