Some large-sized raw materials cannot be pelletized directly and must first be crushed. Therefore, this process stage is specifically equipped with shredders and grinders to reduce the raw material to a particle size of 3–5 millimeters, facilitating pelletization.

What is the diameter of the pellets produced by this animal bedding pellet machine?
Common animal bedding pellets range in diameter from 4 to 10 mm. The specific size depends on the type of animal. For large animals such as cattle and horses, 8 mm diameter pellets are commonly used. This size is particularly in demand at many ranches and cattle farms.

This primarily depends on the actual moisture content of the raw material. Not only wood, but any raw material with a moisture content higher than 15% is unsuitable for direct pelletization. This can affect the pellet formation rate and product quality. Therefore, we have designed high-efficiency wood chip dryer and mesh belt dryer for drying different types of raw materials.

The pelletizing principles for both types of equipment are similar; they both use high-temperature compression to shape the material. However, their specific technical specifications differ. Since pellet fuel requires greater density and higher calorific value, the compression ratio of the pelletizer is higher. Examples include wood chip pellet machine, sawdust pellet mill, and rice husk pelletizer.
In contrast, animal bedding requires low-dust pellets that offer comfort and absorbency. Therefore, the compression force of the pelletizer used for animal bedding is relatively lower.
